Although I love and appreciate all of our national parks, naturally I’m a bit partial to Capitol Reef. I remember my grandfather, whose father (my great grandfather) helped settle the area around Capitol Reef, saying, “God created some beautiful country around here. He created Bryce Canyon with all its majestic pillars and contrasting colors. He created Zion with its colorful sandstone canyons and beautiful waterfalls. And after He got everything right, then God created Capitol Reef.”
If you want to visit all five NPs in one trip, plan on no less than one week, and if you really want to experience them and have the time, plan for even more.
